Lee Anne Thompson

Lee Anne Thompson teaches English Language Leaners at Riverside Elementary
for grades Kindergarten through 4th. She taught two years at a local private school
before coming to Maury County Public Schools, where she is starting her fifth
year. Lee Anne earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood and
Elementary Education from Middle Tennessee State University, and she received
her teaching license for grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. Then, she earned a
Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in
ESL, also from Middle Tennessee State University. At that time, Lee Anne added
a teaching endorsement for English Language Learners, in grades Kindergarten
through 12th, to her license. Lee Anne is an active member of TN TESOL and was
selected to participate in the 2019 Tennessee Department of Education Bias,
Sensitivity, and Accessibility Review Board. She is committed to helping students
overcome barriers that impact their learning and believes that student success is
created through meaningful relationships. Lee Anne, who is a mother and a
grandmother, lives in Columbia, Tennessee with her sweet puppy, Sadie.
